MGS: The Twin Snakes
thanks to the advent of gamecube i spent my birthday finishing MGS: The Twin Snakes, which is a remake of the original MGS, which i played as an eboot on a scratched up PSP-1000 with a missing battery cover when i was 16.
twin snakes is basically MGS wrapped onto the graphics and controls. the gameplay is a lot deeper because now the guards have ears to hear you clowning on them so they'll turn around and light snake up like the dweeb he is.
they also re-recorded all the voice acting, so it's less amateurish, but i think a couple characters came out worse. the score is totally new, and amazing, but you don't get the crazy synth choir shit that was so memorable from the ps1. the biggest thing people whinge about online is the cutscenes, which are balls-out silly. the guy who directed them was still super matrixpilled, i guess because matrix: revolutions came out the year before. mgs3 already permanently damaged me, so i didn't gaf and thought the new cutscenes were really funny.

actually importantly the sneaking around is harder, but the bosses felt way easier and i first-tried them all. having a fully-formed adult brain now prob helps with that, but even the torture scene was really easy. on the PSP i had to mash the button so hard i shook the battery out of the console and had to redo the whole sequence. <3 i loved getting to play MGS again <3 with better grafisks and controls and the ability to slam your face repeatedly into the locker door. you should play it, especially if you played the original years ago.
